Native Squarespace Animations
Along with strategic use of native Squarespace blocks, this template utilizes new, advanced Squarespace features to give it the it the look and feel of a custom coded website, without actually adding in any custom code! One way in which we did this was to make use of the new animation features available on native Squarespace blocks.
These native animations can be styled in a myriad of ways, so to keep the look cohesive throughout the site, we chose two main styles of animation for this template:
Animate on scroll: which is utilized via:
Buttons on the home which rotate as site visitors scrollaway from them (so that the animation doesn’t interfere with the function of the button) as well as
The Upcoming Events header text which appears as site visitors scroll into that section of the home page, to create a feeling of novelty, to help the events stand out further.
Float on follow: which is utilized as an decorative addition wherever the “get in touch” and social follow icons appear, to add a bit of playfulness to the user experience, without impacting the function of the website. When site visitors hover over the images with the float on follow animation, the images will “follow” the cursor, before snapping back to their orignial placement to allow for users to carry on using the site as normal.
